During October, the Biden administration dramatically reduced Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE’s) scope of enforcement, including new rules limiting ICE officers to focus on recent border crossers, aggravated felons and national security threats. This guidance coincided with a significant drop in arrests and deportations; particularly for those illegal migrants working here. Critics have accused the Biden administration of crippling ICE as part of their open border approach to illegal immigration which has encouraged a overwhelming and costly migrant surge at the U.S. southern border.

On October 12, 2021, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas issued a memo to ICE Director Tae Johnson ordering ICE to immediately stop their mass worksite deportation raids, limiting ICE’s deportation powers. In it Mayorkas said:

The deployment of mass worksite operations, sometimes resulting in the simultaneous arrest of hundreds of workers, was not focused on the most pernicious aspect of our country’s unauthorized employment challenge: exploitative employers,“ … “These highly visible operations misallocated enforcement resources while chilling, and even serving as a retaliation for, worker cooperation in workplace standards investigations, he said.

A memo from Tae Johnson the same day to all ICE officers reiterated the instructions and sentiments. Two days later a memo from the Office of the Executive Associate Director for Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) echoed the prior two memos to it’s officers.

Mayorkas’s memo also directs the heads of ICE, Customs and Border Protection and Citizenship and Immigration Services to draw up a plan within two months to increase employer penalties; to include strategies to encourage all workers, including illegal aliens, to report unscrupulous practices without fear; and for agents to coordinate with other agencies, like the Department of Labor.

All incentives to illegal aliens in the U.S. need to be eliminated. Children unable to choose for themselves are not the same as adults who consciously choose to enter illegally; their welfare must be protected which is not an automatic default to staying in the U.S. with the federal government as a surrogate parent.

Many observers attribute the historic spikes in illegal immigration across the southern border to Joe Biden’s rhetoric during the 2020 Presidential campaign. At the primary debates and campaign events, Biden explicitly promised an open border; pledging to provide taxpayer-funded benefits to all illegals, including “free” healthcare.

The focus on employers breaking immigration law while giving what seems like something like ‘whistleblower’ status to illegal aliens is another incentive for more migrants to illegally come to the U.S.

Restricting the types of interactions ICE and ERO officers can have with all at a worksite is unwise in several ways. Discovering all illegal activity connections within one ICE action is cost-effective, safer for all involved; and better serves public safety, law abiding employers of legal personnel, the illegal aliens; while being safer for the ICE agents and local law enforcement. Also, all public and illegal alien health is better served by the ICE agents being able to communicate with all involved in illegal activities. During a pandemic, limiting the scope of interactions is highly irresponsible.

Biden’s open door invites illegals, COVID-19, and other diseases along with hostile aliens and a full array of dangerous contraband to come in through our southern border. This doesn’t stay at the border.

The rising immigration numbers also represent a health crisis for the United States, as many of these illegals enter the country with the Chinese coronavirus and other diseases; yet there is currently no mandate in place for illegals to be vaccinated before they are released into the country.

On July 13, 2021 the Washington Examiner reported Chinese money launderers and fentanyl manufactures have partnered with Mexican drug cartels to smuggle fentanyl into the U.S. across the southern border. Opioid drug addiction and deaths have soared since the pandemic in the U.S. according to the CDC. The new data documents estimated overdose deaths from opioids increased from 50,963 in 2019 to 69,710 in 2020.

Alexandra Capelouto, 20, died when she ingested a pill she thought was Oxycodone. It turned out to be laced with illicit fentanyl. Overdose deaths from synthetic opioids (primarily fentanyl) and psychostimulants like methamphetamine also increased. Drug Overdose Deaths in the U.S. Up 30% in 2020 (cdc.gov) Most of these come across our southern border.

In media appearances and on his Facebook page, Derek Maltz Sr., Former Director Special Ops, 28 years in Federal Law Enforcement, and National Security Public Safety Executive, claims the cartels, are making millions of dollars a week, using this weakness against our country. They’re blitzing the wide open border. They send a large group of migrants, what they call “flooding the zone,” to where they know Border Patrol agents are located. Then, a mile away, send in ‘special-interest aliens’ who pay high fees; up to $10,000 each to cartels for their “coyotes” to guide them across the border undetected by agents. They include aliens from countries all over the world.

By reversing the Trump policy, Biden empowers the genocidal, domestic terrorism of the drug cartels in Mexico. He’s undermining the Mexican government; Mexico’s president has told him he’s screwing things up; enriching the cartels. Biden is briefed on it and is aware it’s a crisis.

Oct. 25, Brandon Judd, President of the National Border Patrol Council stated:

I’ve never seen it as bad as what it is right now,” …“We just don’t have the manpower and resources to do what we need to do to both detect and apprehend everything [or everyone] that’s crossing the border.

RJ Hauman, head of government relations for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) told Fox News.  “Since the Biden administration cannot abolish ICE outright, Mayorkas is destroying it from within.“
