Former SC Governor and US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley has repeatedly deceived South Carolinians and the American people. She has a history of untruths from foreign affairs to Southern Heritage, and it goes back to at least her tenure at Lexington Medical.

It is no secret former Ambassador Nikki Haley is planning a 2024 campaign for president. She has created a non-profit organization named “Stand for America” that is helping a lot of selected candidates in Republican primaries around the nation.

Nikki also launched THE STAND touted as an online newsletter that is supposed to help conservatives circumvent the liberal dominance of legacy news media.

The real purpose of all these efforts is to keep Nikki in the news and raise her profile. This effort is designed to become her 2024 presidential campaign some time after this year’s November elections are over.

The first electronic issue of THE STAND hit my e-mail this afternoon. It is crammed full of criticisms of the Biden regime’s anti energy policies like stopping the XL pipeline and restricting oil exploration on federal land.

Prominent headlines scream “BUY AMERICAN, HIRE AMERICAN, SUPPORT AMERICAN ENERGY.” From all these misleading articles and headlines, one would be led to believe Nikki Haley would be a leader in bringing America back to energy self sufficiency and the development of all our resources.

Nothing is further from the truth. To know how disingenuous this newsletter is, look no further than the first congressional district here in South Carolina where a hot Republican Primary is shaping up that has clear national implications for the future of the Republican Party.

First term congressman Nancy Mace, is seeking nomination to a second term. She is opposed by Katie Arrington who was our 2018 nominee after defeating former Governor Mark Sanford in that year’s GOP primary. Unfortunately Katie Arrington was in a traffic accident when she was hit by a drunk driver going the wrong way on the freeway. The accident almost cost Arrington her life, leaving her hospitalized for months at a crucial time in her campaign.

This race is significant for two reasons. First, President Trump has endorsed Arrington. Before the Trump endorsement, Mace as the incumbent had a lead in the race. After the Trump endorsement, Arrington now leads with 51% support to only 33% for Mace, with 16% undecided according to polling by Remington Research Group.

Mace is a strong opponent of developing South Carolina’s offshore gas reserves, potentially worth billions. Developing those reserves will create hundreds of permanent, high paying, jobs for South Carolinians.

Thus while THE STAND touts American jobs and American energy; they are simultaneously supporting a congressional candidate in Mace, who opposes both goals.
