In February of this year, we reported on Fufeng, a company with direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), investing over $350 million in North Dakota’s agricultural land. At the time, other mainstream news outlets stayed silent. But now, the situation has developed into an extreme national security issue that no one can ignore. With their North Dakota purchase, China now owns nearly $1.9 billion of US farmland.

After investing $1.9 billion, China now owns 191k acres of U.S. farmland. This is extremely concerning when considering the vulnerability of the American food supply. In just the past year, grocery prices in the United States have increased by 10.8%.

Unfortunately, will increase dramatically due to the fallout of the war in Ukraine and Biden’s horrendous domestic policies. The United Nations predicts a coming “Global Hunger Crisis” in which 276 million people will face food insecurity. Understand that the term “food insecurity” is a politically correct way to describe famine and mass starvation.

With a global hunger crisis on the horizon, the last thing the United States needs is a hostile foreign power, China, buying up are invaluable farm land. A gullible bystander may believe that China is buying up this farm land because they have the largest population in the world and a lot of mouths to feed. However, China’s intentions are rarely so pure.

It is much more likely that China is purchasing American farmland in order to speed up our decline. As we face a global hunger crisis, we will be at the behest of China’s good will to feed our people. In such a situation, we will be prevented from accessing food grown on our own soil or, in the best case, face an extreme markup on prices.

There is another reason why China is purchasing U.S. farmland, and it has nothing to do with food production. Instead, it involves foreign espionage. Our reporting in February on Fufeng’s purchase of North Dakota land extensively discussed how such land could be used to spy on U.S. military operations. These concerns turned out to be true and are now evident to politicians in Washington.

China’s recent purchase of North Dakota farmland is conveniently located 20 minutesdown the road from the Grand Forks Air Force Base. This is not a mere coincidence, seeing how the Grand Forks Air Force Base is home to our nation’s most sensitive military drone technology and our space networking center. A North Dakota senator described Grand Forks Air Force Base this way:

“The backbone of all U.S. military communications across the globe.”

Air Force officer Maj. Jeremy Fox is extremely concerned with China’s purchase of North Dakota farmland and has released a memo to military officials. Fox believes that this land purchase fits the pattern of Chinese subnational espionage campaigns in which they use commercial development projects to get close to Department of Defense installations.

If the United States is to remain the land of the free and the home of the brave, we cannot allow our foreign enemies to purchase invaluable agricultural farmland and spy on domestic military bases. This situation calls for quick and effective action, such as a federal ban on Chinese purchases of U.S. land.

Sadly, such action is unlikely to happen as we have a dementia ridden commander in chief, Joe Biden, who is beholden to corrupt Chinese interests.
