Primary schools are a place where children learn the basics of education: reading, writing, and arithmetic developing fundamental skills for life. Unfortunately, in too many schools and in too many places there are predators lurking to teach inappropriate subjects and groom students. Photo courtesy Pexels/Ron Lach.

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18

It’s that time of year again when everywhere you look you see a rainbow. This is “pride month,” and while a vast majority of American students are failing in Reading and Math, many states have established a K-12 “Health curriculum” promoting LGBTQP+ doctrines and recommending a K-3 book titled “Who Are You?”.

Who Are You? Is a book that talks about “gender identity” used in public schools to introduce children to the LGBTQP+ movement.

The book introduces children to an array of genders, not just two. According to the book’s lesson plan, students work through the three layers of “The Gender Wheel” learning that “grown-ups look at a baby’s body when they are born and make a guess: boy or girl.” Who knew?! And I was always taught that “from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.” Mark 10:6

The LGBTQP+ agenda is a political movement foisted upon schools under the guise of “diversity” and civil rights. US Parents Involved in Education (USPIE) has been fighting against the sexualization of children for many years.

USPIE President Sherry Few said “We understand that schools are ground zero in the current culture war on sex education.” She continued that “We encourage parents to become informed and do what must be done to protect their children.”

Few says that “Taxpayers and community members should support parents and demand public institutions exercise prudent judgment to ensure appropriate protection of the innocence and safety of children.”

And parents are the protecting wall against unwanted indoctrination and physical advances upon children. Parents must be aware of what is being taught their children at school and ask them questions.

The past several years inappropriate teachings have taken place in Lexington County public schools. And just this week we have read that legally inappropriate topics are being taught in a Lexington County school after the State Legislature passed a law prohibiting the instruction. Several students have reported they were upset by the topic. (We’ll report on this as we get facts).

Six months ago the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention spent $85 million on a grant program requiring public schools to start Gay-Straight Alliances. A Tennessee Conservative article states “For schools to be eligible for the grant, they must fulfill all of the required activities listed in the program guidance document and cannot opt-out of those requirements.”

According to the document, one of the required activities that schools cannot opt out of requires the “implementation of student-led clubs supporting LGBT youth”, usually known as Gay-Straight Alliances. A second activity required is that schools “educate all staff on how to support LGBT students.”

Few says “It is the position of USPIE that sexualizing and confusing children about their gender in government schools is child abuse and must be stopped immediately.”

She adds “During “pride month” USPIE would like to remind you of the true meaning of the rainbow: Genesis 9:12-13.” Those verses of scripture detail that a covenant of a rainbow was made between the Almighty and man, and that he would not destroy the earth by flood again when men disobeyed him.

USPIE is a nonprofit, nationwide coalition trying to reestablish education excellence and restore parental authority over their children’s education. They do this by helping parents and local communities escape federal and other national influences by getting back to local control over education.

The organization is looking for local grassroots leaders to expose falsehoods and deceptions taught in government funded public schools; encourage parents to educate their children; initiate and support efforts to return public education under local control, and; encourage states to exercise independence from federal money and control.
