Senate District 33 is a large swath of Horry County with stretches from Myrtle Beach to Conway. Longtime GOP Sen. Luke Rankin faces two challengers in his record-election bid.

The message should be clear here. In a primary election, a candidate must get 50% plus 1 to advance to the runoff. Rankin is a disaster and should be defeated for the benefit of the entire state of South Carolina.

Senate 33 candidate John Gallman

Senator Luke Rankin, District 33

Businessman John Gallman and crisis pregnancy center President Carter Smith are challenging Rankin. These are both extremely pro-life candidates.

It is imperative that Luke Rankin does not receive another term.

Rankin, who is chairman of the Judiciary Committee, has not only blocked any pro-life legislation, but he has been the most fiscally irresponsible senator of anybody besides Sen. Hugh Leatherman.

The qualities they share? Both were lifelong Democrats that joined the Republican Party after they gained control of the senate in the early part of the century.

Sen. Luke Rankin has been an absolute disaster for South Carolina and his conservative district. I urge you to vote for one of two candidates who have proved themselves to be strong conservatives – John Gallman or Carter Smith.
