The Standard Political writer Preston Baines gives his political opinion about the upcoming Republican Primary Vote choices on June 9th.

In State Senate District 18 (Union County, Newberry and parts of Lexington County in Chapin, Irmo, Lexington,) Dr. Charles Bumgardner is a better choice.

Senate District 18 candidate, Dr. Charles Bumgardner

The Lexington dentist has taken a standard conservative approach while taking particular issue with longtime incumbent Sen. Ronnie Cromer’s approach to the VC Summer fiasco involving SCE&G and Santee Cooper, pointing out that it is socialism.

Cromer, a Pharmacist from Prosperity, hails from the less-populated part of the district.

Cromer is likable enough guy but he doesn’t stand out as a seasoned senator and is among the most fiscally irresponsible senators in Columbia.

In Senate District 18, it is time to move on to a different choice and Charles Bumgardner makes sense.
